We have been saying that Android 2.1 is the Flan, we have to apologize that, Android 2.1 or 2.0 system with the same called Eclair, since the Android 1.1 has not its own special code appears, perhaps Google is so taken into account: X.1 does not separate from name, only the X.0, X.5 and X.6 have their own names.

Then the next generation of Android system is supposed to be Android 2.5? Android senior product manager Erick Tseng mentioned that the development of next-generation system  in an interview with Engadget interview, that the code-named Android is Froyo, rather than before the famous Flan.

Windows Mobile 6.6 (aka ‘not Windows Mobile 7′) to release at February 2010

Thursday, January 14, 2010 15:37

windows mobile 7 logoGoogle’s super phone Nexus One was released, and Microsoft says :”I have to do something”, but Windows Mobile seems to be delayed again, so, Windows Mobile 6.6 is coming:)

HTC’s HD2 has already proven that it’s possible to cleanly support capacitive touch on a 6.x-based device, so it’s reasonable to think that this is legit — but what we don’t yet know is how this dovetails with 6.5.3, whether they’re the same thing, and if Microsoft is doing this simply to buy itself a few precious extra months to bake WinMo 7 to a crispy, golden brown perfection. We’d already heard before that 6.x and 7 will have an opportunity to coexist in the marketplace, so it’s entirely possible that 6.6 is the version that’ll carry that torch on the 6.x side of things — but if this gets announced alone without a mention of Robbie’s ground-up rewrite at MWC, we’d wager there’ll be riots in Barcelona.

The next version of the Nexus One Smartphone will be an enterprise version for business purpose which might have a physical keyboard to boot.  However not too much was revealed on what exactly the enterprise version of the Nexus One will actually consist of in terms of software applications.

Interviewed by All Things Digital’s Walt Mossberg today, Google VP of Engineering Andy Rubin talked about the advent of a new breed of “superphones” and Google’s vision for the way phones should be purchased and sold. An earlier question was asking How involved was Google in the development of Nexus One?

We threw out crazy ideas to our partners at HTC and they were pretty good about plucking the good ones out of the air and building them into the device.

Answered Robin, and Walt asks about the new business model Google’s launched in concert with Nexus One. Was this something the company planned all along? Read the rest of this entry »
